Weight Loss Wednesday- Down 20lbs. How’d I Do It?

When I starting my weight loss journey I was teetering between 204-206lbs… the heaviest I had EVER been. Well, the past couple of days on the scale, I am now at 186!!! That’s 20 lbs down. Every day it literally goes lower and lower 🙂 . The funny thing is, I haven’t worked out in 2 weeks. And this week my gym is closed for renovations 🙁
So what have I been doing??
Eating right –
I am on Nutrisystem (started when I was around 202 lbs in late Jan/early Feb) so I am eating muuccchhh better now. Even on the weekends when I cannot have my NS meals, I make sure to eat right. Smaller portions are key. When I used to eat before, I would cook for a couple of days. So say I had enough for lunch/dinner for 3 days… I would probably finish it in 2. I used to eat HUGE portions. Mostly because I never ate breakfast. For lunch I might’ve eaten fast food or a sub. And then for my ride home, I would get a double cheeseburger and fries from McDonalds…and then dinner around 9. There are so many things wrong with that (A) no breakfast (B) fast food (C) eating dinner super late. I don’t do that anymore. And in fact, since Jan 1st, I have only had McDonalds twice!!!
Drinking water
I started drinking more water. I have been drinking at least 5 cups a day. Not on the whole 8 glasses thing, but much more water than I was drinking.
No more juice
Well, not all juice. Just juice with all the sugars and high fructose. I started getting organic, diet, or sugar free. I am crazy about my juice!!! This was a good alternative for me. I used to have all the bad juices filling up my refrigerator. When I would go to the grocery store, I would spend most of the money on juice 🙁 I try to limit my juice and drink more water instead.
Exercising
The last time I exercised for real would have to be like 2009..no lie. It was that bad. I was out of shape! The 2nd week in January, I started working out in a group class with Kenya. Doing the group workouts taught me how to exercise and now I am more in shape. I can go to the gym and do light work outs by myself now. On Nutrisystem, they suggest a light workout (even though I have seen I still lose even when I’m not working out) so you can do several things. You can take the stairs instead of the elevator for example. You can also go to the gym for 30 mins to an hour a couple of days a week. If you lack motivation by yourself (like I used to) try a group work out. Get some of your friends together and walk around the block a couple of times.
Let’s get down to these measurements!!
I will be honest. I am embarrassed to say where my measurements started..so for now I will tell you how many inches I have lost. (Once I am at the desired measurements THEN I will share where I started lol
From January 22nd to Feb 4th
Arms -.5in Chest 0 Waist 0 Hips -.5in Thighs -1.5in
From Feb 4th to March 8th
Arms -.3in Chest 0 Waist -2in Hips -.5in Thighs 1in
From March 8th to March 25th
Arms -.4 in Chest -1.5in Waist -1in Hips -.7 in Thighs -.3in
TOTAL Arms -1.2in Chest -1.5in Waist -3in Hips -1.7in Thighs -2.8in
So the winner is clearly my waist which is what I want to go down the most!!!! Yay!! I have like 7 inches to go in the waist to get to wear I want to be.
