This weekend I pulled together all my “new” products that I wanted to review with my new cut. I will be honest, I started doing Youtube in 2008 and after doing tons and tons of reviews, I got tired of doing it. Plus with long hair, everything was time consuming. It would take alot of time for me to record, then style, then wait for it to dry then show the finished results. It was just alot!
Now that my hair is short, I actually WANT to play in products again. I will be doing videos again. I am going to try to do maybe once a week but I think once bi-weekly is more believable for me lol.
But anyway, so I brought together alot of my newer products that I wanted to review. I decided to try the Coily Custard from Miss Jessie’s. While this isn’t a brand new product, it will be new to my hair. I am not a gel/custard person generally so I didn’t really like using them on my hair before. I want to give custards/gels a try now.
After washing my hair with my conditioner of choice- Aussie Moist Conditioner, I left my hair wet and didn’t towel dry. I took a little more than a quarter sized amount of the custard and spread throughout my hair evenly. I made sure to not disrupt the curls at all and to just coat the hair. Here are the results:
These images were taken at the end of the day…so basically 12 hours after I applied the product.
At night, I wore a satin bonnet only and lightly fluffed with my hands where I slept. Took all of 10 seconds and I was out the house.
I need a shape up sooo badly lol. I’m going soon.
Final Thoughts: I loved the results with the Miss Jessie’s Coily Custard. My hair didn’t have the crunch that most custards/gels give. I think I used just the right amount of product for my length. I love that my curls stayed defined all day and that it wasn’t frizzy. I love Day 2 even better because my hair is slightly bigger. That’s the great thing about wash & gos. They look different each day. I actually like when my hair gets bigger with this cut. I find that wash & gos last longer too. Kudos to Miss Jessies!
Also, I just started reading their new book Miss Jessie’s – Creating a Successful Business from Scratch – Naturally. You should definitely check it out and get inspired!
