Here is my new hair color. I punked out and got lighter highlights  on the top half instead of getting the entire top half all colored.  I did this so it would be less damage if any. So far, so good. I havent seen any damage. Here is my hair in a bun. I haven’t done much to it since I got it highlighted last Sunday because I didn’t want to mess with it too much. Now, I’m ready for all sorts of hair styles. So..here it is: ...

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day Holiday weekend!! Please be safe and have some great food. ...

I love color. Just remember if you get color, take really good care of it. The good thing about being natural is, color damages our hair less than it would with someone with a relaxer. I like to spice up my hair from time to time with color. Here are some colorful ladies: I’m loving two toned     Nice Highlights like Rachel True One tone- Dark Brown- So classic on Tracee Ellis Ross You can’t forget about the colors like Kelis when she first came out. That pink was hot (I wouldnt do it, but it was hot) What about that...

I remember when I first saw Ambrosia’s signature style, I went straight home and did it myself. Her hairstyles are super fly and she is transitioning. Here is her transition story: 9 weeks in transition Ambrosia: I have been transitioning for 8 months now, my last relaxer was on September 3rd 2008. I must say it has definitely been an interesting journey. Twist-outs/knots have been my best friend through it all, I have tried many other alternatives such as braid-outs, flat twists etc., I don’t think those are for me at the...

This is the 2nd time in a year I have gotten my hair colored. I usually do it once every 2 years when I want a change. This last time I did it, this past weekend, I was afraid my hair would break off alot. So far so good I was just hoping my hair wouldn’t be clogging up the drains in the shower with my new highlighted hair lol. How do you ladies feel about getting your hair colored? Are you afraid to do it? What colors are hot on curly, coily, & kinky hair?  I am really feeling the two toned look with the lighter hair on...

Extra Virgin Olive Oil is great for your hair.  It helps brittle or overprocessed hair. You can use it as a sealer, for a hot oil treatment, you can add it to your conditioner, and many other things besides making pasta.  After you get out the shower, you can put the oil on your hair for about 30 minutes, put a shower cap on and rinse it out. Benefits: -Promotes shiny, softer hair -Gets rid of dandruff -I’ve heard it prevents hair loss also ...

Shea Butter Benefits: Shea Butter provides moisture to dry or damaged hair from the roots to the very tips, repairing and protecting against weather damage, dryness and brittleness.  It also absorbs quickly and completely into the scalp to rehydrate without clogging pores.  It is particularly beneficial for processed and heat-treated hair.  It is an excellent treatment for dry scalp. It restores luster to damaged hair. (www.treasuredlocks.com)   I just bought some Shea Butter not too long ago and starting mixing it with products. ...

I love Rosered1585′s hair. Check her out: Lexi- Your weekly regimen Rosered1585-My weekly regimen (strangely even after being natural since 2003) is still being developed LOL. But in the warmer months, when don’t wear my hair straight, I usually will wash once a week and right now I use Creame of Nature detangling shampoo and their leave in conditioner. I’ll also co-wash a few times during the week with Herbal Essence Hello Hydration or Totally Twisted and put some more leave in after wards.  Sometimes I will just put...

I had the opportunity to meet BrownFaceTV at the World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta. She was awesome and she got alot of great footage of the show and she did an amazing short doc with many different people on why they went natural.  Good video. Check out BrownFaceTV at http://www.youtube.com/BrownFaceTV Why did you go natural? ...

Jane Carter has great natural products. I won all of her hair products one time when I entered this contest and I haven’t gotten a chance to try them all out yet. Jane Carter, herself, does these teleseminars where she opens up the floor to us , the natural ladies, to ask her questions about our hair and her products.  You should call in if you are interested. I called in a couple of months ago and learned alot about hair and her natural products. Check out the e-mail they sent below: “It’s that time again! What...
