Please check out this article first http://blog.essence.com/bohemianrhapsody/2009/09/the-tracks-of-my-weave.html Joy Bryant talks about her love for weave as if she is ugly without it. Who knew such a beautiful woman would have such low self esteem. I don’t knock weaves, in fact I am getting one next week, but I don’t like someone who is in the limelight giving bad advice to young women. Basically she is saying that without weave she isn’t beautiful. That is sad…I hope some impressionable teenagers don’t...

I hope the ladies that were in attendance enjoyed themselves. I had alot of fun. 40 Gorgeous natural women showed. We had a little issues at first because that morning the street was flooded where the event was and police weren’t letting anyone on from the highway. So, I cancelled it and then put it back on when the rain stopped and the flooding went down. I know alot of women didn’t get the news about it being back on, so if you missed it- Oct 9th to see “Good Hair”. More info to come…. Anyway, here are pics...

Hello Everyone! So, I hate gel in my hair because its dries my hair out and is super crunchy. I tried some of my Pantene Curl’s line Gel and I mixed it with Herbal Essence’s Hydralicious conditioner. I put about a quarter size of gel and a quarter  size of conditioner. The results were awesome….moisturized with a slight hold and not hard at all. Here is second day hair. #gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2...

Congratulations to Miss Shayna Rudd for being crowned the new Miss Black USA  this August. She is a natural as well. I was able to do an interview with her. I would like to thank Miss Rudd so much for her participation in this interview. -How long were you relaxed? I was relaxed at the tender age of 5! Mymother struggled to tame my thick and wild hair. So, she decided to get my hair permed. My mother is usually dead on with making choices, but this one was WAYYYYY off ( smile). -Why did you decide to go natural? To be honest, I got...

Hey, So I tried Mixed Chicks out this weekend. I did a deep conditioner with Organic Roots Stimulator Replenishing Pack and loved the results. Immediately after putting it on, I had a nice sheen to my hair. I sat under the steamer for 35 minutes and loved it. After I rinsed with cold water, I used Mixed Chicks on my hair to do a twist out. I think I used too much. My hair was crunchy and felt a little dry.  When I picked up some Mixed Chicks at their booth at Bronner Bros, the stylist told me to mix it with water so I can test the amount....

Mahisha Dellinger, curly hair expert and creator of the CURLS (www.curls.biz) natural/organic line offers some End of Summer Hair Tips and an At-Home Milk & Honey Tress Smoothie Treatment to bring those dull tresses back to life.  Along with those hot summer months comes the daily assault of taxing chlorine compounds, drying sea salt, and damaging sun rays – not to mention all of the havoc everyone does to their hair from daily styling.  If there is a time to be extra gentle on hair, it is now. Chlorine and salt water both dry,...

I’ve always loved Chilli of TLC’s natural hair. She has gorgeous,  healthy hair. Anyway, this post isnt really about her hair. I am casting for men for a Vh1 show and looking for guys in the Atlanta area or guys who are willing to travel to Atlanta to audition. Here is the copy:   She is known as a superstar around the world. Her exotic looks have been featured in People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful.” She is a Pop and R&B Legend, and one of the best selling artists of all time… and she is looking...

I just purchased some hair that I want to use because I need to give my hair a break for a month and not manipulate it. I keep seeing when people do videos or talk about weaves as a natural….people send them “hate mail” and stuff! What is going on? Is it that bad to wear a weave? I don’t think it is bad…depending on why they are wearing a weave. If someone has alot of damage and isn’t trying to take care of their hair so they throw a weave in it isn’t cool…however, if you are doing it as...
