My flat twist out with flexi rods

Hey ladies! I just wanted to show you my latest flat twist out with rods on the end. On Friday, I did my hair at like 3 in the morning. I did flat twist from wet hair using Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream. I put the blue flexirods on the end. So I ended up not going anywhere this weekend so I kept the twists and rods in until today! lol

So here is how I did my flat twists..

Here it is when I took the flexirods off. Nice smooth ringlets.

So when I took them out, I wasn’t as careful as I should have been so I made it a little frizzy 🙁

So I should have been totally more careful about taking them out but its all good. I may put it up tomorrow in a cute style. I love the way my hair feels. It feels so soft and light. When I wear my natural pattern, my hair feels much heavier…Not sure why. I think because it is fully detangled when I do twist outs versus hair that airdries and gets more tangled.

So here is my hair shrunken up after about 5 hours of me taking out the twists.

I decided to stretch the hair with a blowdryer for about 3 minutes. Here is one side stretched so you can see the difference…

Here is the finished look

I’ll be more careful next time taking out my twist outs 🙁

  • I am seven months post relaxer and I am trying to make it to a year before I big chop. I think this would be a great style for me to try. You have very beautiful hair and I think it looks lovely!

Very pretty, I am looking for a semi-simple low mani-stretch style that I can wear every week. I am starting to realize that I don’t like protective styles and because my hair is in a mullet shape right now (top short, bottom long) its hard to bun. So I may have to try flat twisting till it gets a little longer. Will definitely try this!
