Monday Mani Muse- (2 Days Later lol) Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips™

As you all know, I looooveee doing my nails. Growing up I had huge drawers filled with nail polish. It was definitely a hobby of mine. At the time, I didn’t do all the designs but I did use little nail stickers. Oh, and let’s not forget the “Mommy Nails” as I used to call them. You know, the ones you pressed on??

Well now in my late twenties, I am really into doing my nails alot more. In fact, I do them every Sunday so I can have a new look for the week. There was a point for a year where I cheated on my nail designs and went to ….the nail salon every 2 weeks. It never failed! I was there every other Sunday afternoon getting my gel nails. I loved gel nails because they lasted 2 weeks- of me washing my hair, banging my nails around, scrubbing showers, all of it! I could do anything and they wouldn’t budge. Butttt…. I hated being a slave to the nail spa.

I have been waiting for an inexpensive brand to make salon quality gel nails a great experience at home! I think I have found it! Sally Hansen has actually combines the nail strip craze and the gel nails craze and that equals Sally Hansen Salon Insta-Gel Strips.

I received the Starter kit which includes: a mini LED lamp, 16 gel polish strips (Shell We Dance), 1 gel top coat, 2 nail cleanser pads, cuticle stick, file & buffer, and an instruction manual.

I checked out the video below so I can have a clear understanding of how to apply:

Step 1: Push the cuticles back, shape nails, and buff

Step 2: Clean my nails with the cleansing pad

Step 3: Find the correct strip that fits your nail. Peel back and place on your nail. Stretch the strip over and make sure it is smooth and no bubbles or creases. File away any excess strip and use the cuticle stick to make sure it is pushed down everywhere.

Step 4: Put on a light layer of the gel top coat and put under the LED lamp. (one at a time)

Step 5: Use the cleansing pad to get off any residue.

OMG! This was the easiest thing EVER! Very simple to do. I was sooo tired last night and it was still very easy to do and didn’t take much time at all. MUCH less time than getting them done at the salon. And they look great!!

They definitely look salon quality!!

I love gel polish, but have found they’re not all created equal. I would give this a try, but not if it’s too expensive. I don’t want another thing just cluttering my junk drawer.
