I had an awesome time at the ESSENCE Black Women In Music event in Los Angeles last week. I had the opportunity to go out to the show on behalf of Lincoln Motor Co. and I got a chance to talk to and interview some of today’s hottest stars!
This was Lincoln’s 6th year participating as a sponsor and you get to see the fly Lincoln MKX sitting on the red carpet as the celebrities graced the scene.
ESSENCE brought out some of the hottest stars and as you may know, Jill Scott was honored. She is one of my favorite artists and I have been a huge fan since her very first album when I was a senior in high school over 10 years ago. I was ecstatic to hear her perform since I hadn’t seen her perform in about a year lol (True fan here!!)
There were a couple of performers before her including Brandy, Lianne la Havas and M.C. Lyte
On the red carpet I saw several people including Tamera Mowry-Housley that I hadn’t seen in years. Check out the pics;
“2015 ESSENCE Black Women in Music kicked off Lincoln’s “The Music Selfie Experiment,” that allows users to upload a selfie and have it set to a music track based on their facial features.”
You can create your #MusicSelfie here. It’s really easy to! Upload a selfie and it finds your face. From there, they use cool algorithms that take your brows, eyes, lips, etc…and make music specifically designed to your face. Mine came out with a great arrangement! Check it out!
