Lexi Test Drives: 2016 Mazda 6

I love red cars- they always give me sports car vibe. I also am a fan of Mazda’s. I’ve only had two brands of cars in my life- Mazda & Ford. I have been a Mazda fan for years and have always loved the sleek yet sporty looks of their cars.

I got a chance to test drive the 2016 Mazda 6 for the past week and I loved it! Let’s get down to what I loved overall:

  • It is great on gas. After 5 days of driving to work (about 50 miles a day), after-work events and over the weekend hopping around from place to place, I barely got down to a quarter tank and I started at full. That has never happened to me. I generally have to fill back up before then. Going 7 days without having to get gas is GREAT!
  • Automatic windshield wipers. Why was this amazing to me? It rained so much off and on and at different speeds ALL week almost. With automatic, it senses how much it is raining and the speed adjusts. So if I’m driving through and it drizzles, it slows the speed and as soon as the rain picks up, it speeds up. I thought this was the coolest thing lol.
  • Even though the touch screen doesn’t work while driving (ugghh! However, it is safer), it was pretty easy for me to navigate. I thought it would’ve actually been harder to navigate the system without using the touch screen. I caught on very quickly and listened to my Sirius and took calls through bluetooth in the car. It was super easy to set up and use.
  • This car is beyond safe. Anytime I drifted a little towards the line, it would beep to alert me. I like that feature alot. Sometimes you drift a little unknowingly and it keeps you back in line. It also alerts you if there is a car next to you when you are trying to maneuver into another lane.

With the entertainment, the automatic windshield wipers (lol), the saving on gas, & the safety, I would definitely rate this as a great car!  Out of everything, the safety definitely stood out to me more than anything.

Thanks DriveShop & Mazda for an awesome week!
