Joy Bryant talks about her love for weave as if she is ugly without it. Who knew such a beautiful woman would have such low self esteem. I don’t knock weaves, in fact I am getting one next week, but I don’t like someone who is in the limelight giving bad advice to young women. Basically she is saying that without weave she isn’t beautiful. That is sad…I hope some impressionable teenagers don’t look at this article and feel like they need weave to be pretty. She seemed like a well spoken women before to me….but after this article she seems the complete opposite. She calls herself “ugly” without hair in and when she has weave in she “feels human again”. Wow! What low self esteem

I was also disappointed by this. Maybe she was joking, but it does send the wrong message. She is ridiculing Tyra for taking her weave out, and she is making it seem as if the weave makes her who she is. Wear a weave because you want a new look or because you want to give your hair a break, not because you think you can’t be pretty with your own hair.
To each their own…
At least Joy’s hair is more realistic.
Oh lawd…as I just roll my eyes! I have nothing against people who wear weave…but come on! You gotta love yourself more than that! Poor Joy…she needs to find herself and not feel inadequate without her weave. It’s sad really.
