There were so many hair companies in attendance at Essence. From everyone on the streets with Miss Jessie’s bags, to events and autograph signings at the Carol’s Daughter pop up store, to the Mizani/Curly Nikki meet up to of course, The Motions Stylebar…hair was definitely huge this year.
I have been going to the Essence Festival for about 5 years now and I have never seen so many hair products or companies in attendance (besides official sponsors of Essence).
Early Thursday night I stopped the Curly Nikki and Mizani meet up. Nikki and I had met YEARS ago when she first started her blog (or maybe she was still in the NaturallyCurly.com forums. I don’t remember). She had a great turnout! Tons of guests waited in lines to take pictures with her and it was a beautiful evening.
After that event, I headed over to the Carol’s Daughter pop up shop in New Orleans to go to their charity event. They honored local entrepreneurs and business women who are New Orleans based. Amanda Diva was the DJ that night! I also caught up with DivasAndDorks.com and Kim from Lamik Cosmetics.
They also debuted their new Hair Milk collection expansion. I can’t wait to try out all the new products soon! Carol’s Daughter is always on it!
African Pride launched their new Shea Butter Miracle collection (about to try that out soon too). They had several celebrity guests such as Tasha Smith, Shaunie O’Neal, Cynthia Bailey and more.
Of course, I will do a post on our Blogger Tweetup at the Motions Stylebar! We had a blast. Post coming soon.
