My Gypsy Set + Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi Review

My Gypsy Set + Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi Review

This week in Atlanta, we have been bracing cold temperatures and snow, sleet, & rain. In the evening, I was able to get my hair done. I headed to Aaron Tracey from StarTaki Salon and I was so excited to see what he had in store for me. He decided to do his infamous Gypsy Set.

I was excited to see how this works. Luckily he had the new Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi line and I was ready to try them out. I have always been a fan of Design Essentials from way back when I used to get my natural hair straightened and it would be so glossy and bouncy and lasted awhile.

He used the Deep Moisture Oil Treatment and the Deep Moisture Milk Creme Before he even put the products in my hair, I could smell the most amazing scent that made me think of laying on the beach.

CM Group Shot Final-2

Coconut & Monoi Deep Moisture Oil Treatment With Argan Oil & Sunflower infused with nourishing Moroccan Argan Oil with Vitamin E, nourishing botanicals and revitalizing antioxidants, instantly starts the repair process for damaged hair, renewing strength and elasticity while shielding the hair from damaging elements. Hair is visibly softer, silkier and healthier.

Coconut & Monoi Deep Moisture Milk Crème is infused with a triple nourishing blend of Argan, Olive, and Sunflower oils to deliver intense hydration to instantly transform dry, thirsty hair into soft, shiny, revitalized curls in just minutes. This lightweight, highly concentrated oil crème is enriched with Calendula, Vitamin E and restorative milk proteins to replenish curls, reinforcing hair’s natural moisture barrier for all-day frizz protection. Great for finishing styles to minimize frizz and flyaways (including ponytails, mohawks, tapered styles) and for reworking or revitalizing Day 2 or Day 3 styles. For all textures and curl types.

OMG, again I have to mention the smell!! AH-MAY-ZING! Then I got a chance to feel the products and they were very lightweight and were very, very moisturizing. He used that on my hair to prep for the Gypsy Set.

What is a Gypsy Set you ask?

  • You take hair coloring foils and shape them in the shape of a rod and use end papers
  • The shape of it makes it flexible so you get a different set than something harder like straws.
  • It cuts down on drying time because of the aluminum which makes it speed up
