I am almost at my desired weight range!! Only 1.8 lbs and I’ve made it. I want to go even further. My goal was between 165-170. I am comfortable with being in that range but at this point, I just want to lose more inches in my waist. That is my last thing. I have already lost alot of inches so far. Here are the inches I have lost.

ARMS 1.6 inches

CHEST 3 inches

WAIST 3.7 inches

HIPS 4 inches

THIGHS 4 inches.

I realized that I will actually be on Nutrisystem for one more month so that helps me complete my goal. By my birthday, I want to wear a crop top!!! I already have the outfit together. I can wear a crop top now (kinda) but I want it to look great. I’m not looking for “abs of steel” but I just want it as flat as possible. So that is my next goal.

So my new goal is to get to 165 and make sure I am toning and drop some more inches around the waist. I’m sure I can do that in a month! I have exactly one month until my birthday!

Oh yeah, and I lost 4 lbs this week!!

2 weeks ago, I straightened my hair! It had been 5 months since I had done so and I was ready to check out my length, plus my new color J

I finally tried out the newest products added to the Motions line- Straight Finish (Motions® Hair Care can be purchased at Target, Walmart and www.drugstore.com) . This trio includes 3 products: Straight Finish Cleanser, the Straight Finish Leave-In Conditioner & the Straight Finish Sealer.

I’m pretty good at blowing and straightening my hair. Products can make it easier or harder. Motions…made my life easier.

I started with an old twist out so of course my hair was tangled. I used the Cleanser which to me is similar to a co-wash. While it cleansed, it was definitely moisturizing. I combed through with my fingers first and then used my trusty paddle brush to thoroughly get all the tangles out and to clump the curls. I did that process twice.

When I got out the shower, I put enough of the Leave In Conditioner to coat my hair and combed it through with a paddle brush- (hair still wet). This product wasn’t heavy at all. In fact, I thought I put too much on, but it really wasn’t. You are only supposed to use a small amount though. To me , the leave in is like a blow dry cream. It made it easier to blow out my hair using a blow dryer with a nozzle attachment and a paddle brush. I did it in about 6 sections.

Lastly, it was time for the straightening process! My least favorite part lol. I used the Sealer to put on my hair in small sections and I straightened section by section. I did it in sections because I wanted to make sure that the product was from root to tip on ALL of my hair. I straightened in very small sections using 410 degrees. I know it’s a lot , but it works on my hair. I only pass the iron through ONCE and don’t have to go back over it.

Voila! Straight, frizz free hair!

(Took me only 2 hours from wash to completely straight!)

And it lasted all week. (even after sweating in the gym). Check me out before the Rihanna concert: (This is Day 6 by the way)

…and during the concert:

Just as expected, after washing my straight hair over a week later, my curls and coils bounced back! I had high expectations and Motions didn’t let me down. No heat damage at all and back to my beautiful curls.

So what did you think about my transformation of #Curly2Straight

Sumita’s soft wax formula goes on smooth to create clean lines or can be smudged to smoky perfection, while a dose of hydrating glycerin guards against irritation. Plus, the long-lasting liner will hold up all day and night.

I got a chance to try out these eyeliners. Just to give you a back story about me and eye-liner…we don’t really get along. I have the hardest time creating a straight line but I am getting better. I have realized the key is all in the eye liner (and then of course a steady hand). The more the eyeliner glides, the easier it is!

I tried out 4 shades- Saletti, an eye-popping navy, Suman is a rich classic black; Jamun, a deep plum; and Raina, a smoky grey.

They were incredibly easy to use and they did glide VERY well. I am no bueno at putting on liner and these made it so easy for me I definitely like. In addition to the ease, the color payoff was great too. After looking at the pics – I am usually a black eyeliner only type of girl, but I am really feeling the navy and plum now Yay! Now I have some new liner colors to play around with!

Yay! A couple of weeks I was asked to answer some questions for an article on natural hair bloggers that was coming up on HLNtv.com . I was ecstatic because I love these type of opportunities.

I love to discuss how I got into blogging, and the amazing things that have come from blogging and the state of blogs and natural hair. I can talk for days about all of those topics! I admire bloggers so much because I don’t think alot of people realize the amount of time put into having a blog –especially if you have a full-time job too like myself.

Please check out the article. It features myself and 5 other fab hair bloggers.

This weekend was awesome. I hosted 2 events on the same day in two different states. It was super busy but I had a blast. So my new goal is try a new product every week for either a twist out or wash & go (once it gets really hot, I will probably do mostly wash & gos )

This weekend, I decided to try the new EDEN Body Works Coconut Shea line. I used to the Coconut Shea Leave In Conditioner and the Pudding Souffle.

I washed my hair that evening from straight hair and then put the Leave In Conditioner first. Making sure it was completely detangled, in sections I used the Coconut Shea Pudding Souffle and begin twisting. I did maybe 12 twists.

I sat under the dryer for about 35 minutes since I started my hair too late. I needed it to be dry by 9am! I slept on my Pillow Bonnet

Here are the twists taken apart (not separated yet) the next morning. They were shiny and defined.

I then took each one and separated even more doing it very gently to not make my hair frizzy!

At the end of the night, my hair was still defined (ignore the greasy face! This was at like midnight)

Wow! I am so much closer to my goal. I actually forgot my original goal. After going back to my original post I said my goal was 165-170lbs. It’s funny how your goals eventually change once you start working out. I am so close to my range of 170. At 176 (Down from over 200lbs in January) I think I have done a great job. I tried to stay as consistent as possible. Once I realized it’s not a race, I was able to get the most out of my eating healthy (via Nutrisystem) , drinking water, and working out!

I am so happy with my progress

Once I get to my range of 165-170 (which I haven’t been that size in like 4+ years) I definitely want to continue toning up.

For my last post wrapping up my NS, I will make sure to include all stats like how many inches total I have lost. I have lost several inches in my thighs!

Ohh and my size has definitely been going down. For workout clothes, I have been down to a medium on the bottoms. And my jean size went down almost 2 sizes!!! Because I still have a large bust, I still need to wear a tad bigger top to accomodate, but even in tops I can go down a size! This is so awesome. Now I need to get some new summer clothes to fit my new body!!!!
