Dominican Products?

Since I have been going to hair forums for YEARS, I always came across- but never really paid attention to- Dominican products. I have been to Dominican Salons maybe 6 times but never had the urge or thought about purchasing the products. So after going to the BEST beauty supply store in Atlanta- Super Beauty in Greenbriar Mall (I’m telling you, its like a grocery store. Its in the old Circuit City if that gives you an idea of how large the store is)…so they actually had some Dominican Products there so I thought, “Why not?”. I even talked my friend Heather into getting some. So a couple of weeks ago, I purchased the Silicon Mix by Avanti because I had seen this name on several threads online.

I absolutely loved the silicon mix. I didn’t sit under the steamer with it but I left it on for about 5 minutes and it did wonders on my hair. I like to try to use things multiple times before I give a thorough review so I will give a more in depth review later. It is said to restore the health, shine, and the softness of dry, damaged and weak hair.

I also got the Salerm Leave in. It can be used to hydrate your hair, as a mask, or as a protector. I plan on using this before I straighten my hair.

Lastly, I always hear about Emergencia  but it was too expensive for me. They only had a huge tub which was $22…not bad for the size, but bad if I don’t like it. I need a small size to test out first before I take the plunge. I also hear good things about Lacio, Lacio products.

I was planning on purchasing dominican products at Bronner Bros but I didn’t see any that sounded familiar-but the lady was trying to get me to buy Whale Sperm—yes Whale sperm! And it is exactly what it says it is. It is supposed to be really good for your hair but I couldn’t get over what it was to even think about putting it in my hair–and who knows, it may actually work wonders. I will let someone else be the guinea pig on that one lol.

Have you tried any Dominican Products? If so, What are your favs?
