#Curly2Straight with Motions Hair Care!

#Curly2Straight with Motions Hair Care!

It’s starting to be consistently warm in Atlanta (yay!) and it’s about the time that I am really getting the itch to do something different with my hair…and I’m thinking straight!  I straighten my hair from time to time to (a) check out the length  (b) to see how my ends are holding up and (c) just to rock something different.

I also like to opt for a straight style when I have events to go to and luckily, I have been invited to NY next weekend to attend a sneak preview of Motions Global Ambassador Ursula Stephen’s new Brooklyn salon.  After that, we get to hit up the Rih Rih concert! (yay!!!) I love Rihanna and have since she first came on (I can’t wait to see her and A$AP Rocky perform in Brooklyn at the Barclay’s Center!).

So, I will be straightening my hair next Wednesday for the first time in a while and I’m super excited.  But don’t worry, I have it down to a science and with the help of a new 3-step system from Motions, it should only take me about an hour and a half from start (wash) to finish (straight).  Let me give you the skinny on these new products.  The Motions® Straight Finish™ Heat Styled System is a new line for natural girls that lets you straight style your hair, with ease, and without losing your curls (yay!).  After one wash you bounce back to your curly strands.  Since I am someone who loves style versatility I am really looking forward to trying these products.  I’ve been seeing it pop-up recently at my local Target and Wal-Mart stores, and they are a steal at only $6.99 each. Oh, if you’re not close to one of these stores, you can also find it on

I can’t wait for you to see my results!! And then to see how my hair reverts after I’m done straightening!  More to come on Motions® Straight Finish™ after I try it out and learn more when I’m up in NYC.

Since we’re on the topic, here is my ‘straight hair’ story…

When I first went natural, I would get my hair religiously straightened every 2 weeks.  I would wear it straight for about 9 days and then I would rock it curly the rest of that 2nd week.  It’s been a long time since those days. Now I straighten my hair once every 3 or 4 months.

Here is my straight hair over the years:

I straightened my hair last holiday season and I loved the results!

Straightening hair can be a task, I’m not gonna lie.  Especially when you have thick hair like mine.  You have to go from this to sleek hair:
