Beat And Snatched Makeup Classes with Mimi J & Jeremy Dell

I had the opportunity to join in on the “Beat And Snatched” makeup class in Atlanta hosted by celebrity makeup artists Mimi J and Jeremy Dell.

I learned so many amazing tips while there. Mimi J used Natural Chica as her model and allowed us to follow step by step. She started off with her eyebrows first, then eyes, and then did foundation. Mimi J said it’s easier to start with the eyes so you don’t mess up your foundation with fall out.

After the eyes were complete, we headed for foundation application.

From there she taught us how to use concealer. This is always something I find difficult. Firstly, I am AFRAID of concealer. Concealer is one of those things that can either make or break a look. I see mostly bad looks with concealer not being blended so I have always been afraid to try it. She made me feel comfortable and I followed her instructions step by step using Kevin Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer concealer in shade 11 (here). I put it in a V shape underneath my eye with my finger and blended with a smaller fluffy brush.

I think I did a good job for this being my first time using concealer. We also highlighted and did light contouring.

This is Natural Chica’s final look:

And here is my final look:

(Don’t mind my brows. I am trying to grow them out so I can have thick, but clean brows so the in between process is Ughhhh!!)

I used my CoverGirl TruBlend foundation in D2, NYX Peaches & Cream Butter Gloss, Urban Decay Half Baked eyeshadow and Twice Baked, CoverGirl Bombshell Intensity Eye Liner, and Maybelline Pumped Up! Mascara, Stila Bronzer, & Gerard Cosmetics BB+ Illumination.

Jeremy Dell did the second half of the class that was for professionals but I did catch a little of the beginning! I’m sure his class was amazing for those above beginner level (unlike myself)

I am super excited to play around more with makeup so I can stop being lazy in the morning :/ Thanks again to Mimi J and Jeremy Dell!
